RMSc Footprint Pistol Compatibility Guide

What is the RMSc Footprint?

The RMSc footprint (originally designed by Shield Sights) is the dominant industry standard for slimline, micro-compact concealed carry (EDC) pistols. It utilizes four corner alignment sockets and two screw holes at the rear.

⚠️ Crucial Notice on Cross-Compatibility: The RMSc layout is virtually identical to the Holosun K-series (407K/507K), with one critical difference: The Holosun K-series removes the two rear alignment holes and shortens the front pins. If your red dot has a true, un-modified RMSc footprint, it will have all four corner sockets.

1. Direct Fit (No Adapter Plate Needed)

Because micro-compact pistols have very thin slides, direct mounting is highly preferred to keep the optic as low as possible for co-witnessing with iron sights. Our RMSc optics will fit directly onto:

  • Canik METE Series / SFx Rival: (Natively cut for micro optics, directly fits RMSc).

  • Springfield Hellcat OSP / Hellcat Pro: (Directly fits RMSc out of the box).

  • Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Plus Optic Ready / Equalizer: (Directly fits RMSc).

  • Sig Sauer P365 XL / P365 X-Macro / P365 Fuse: (The factory optic cut on these models is natively compatible with RMSc).

  • Kimber R7 Mako: (Optics Ready model fits RMSc directly).

  • Mossberg MC2sc: (Directly fits RMSc).

  • Ruger Max-9: (Directly fits RMSc).

2. The Glock 43X MOS / G48 MOS Exception (Requires Modifications or Plate)

This is the #1 source of customer confusion and returns in the micro-optic industry. You must highlight this clearly for your buyers:

  • The Issue: Glock 43X MOS and Glock 48 MOS use a modified version of the RMSc standard (often called the Glock Slimline rail). Glock kept the two front indexing pins but did not cut the two rear pin holes, and the front pins are slightly taller than standard RMSc.

  • The Solution: To mount a standard RMSc red dot onto a Glock 43X/48 MOS, the customer has two options:

    1. Use a thin Glock 43X MOS to RMSc Adapter Plate (approx. 1mm thick, widely available on Amazon/aftermarket).

    2. File down the rear indexing posts on the Glock slide and shorten the front ones (DIY modification, will void Glock's warranty but popular among enthusiasts).
